120 Castori Elementary 4th graders recently returned from their Coloma field trip. Victoria Facino, one of their teachers, wrote “Many of the students had never been on a field trip. Just the experience of travelling on a bus proved to be memorable for them. The destination of the trip, Coloma, alowed the students to experience the 4th grade social studies and science curriculum first hand, something they’ve never been able to do before. My students have not been able to stop talking about their experiences.” Thanks DREAM.
30 Twin Rivers Seniors won College Bound Scholarships this year….they all went to Target on Monday and loaded up on supplies for their dorm rooms come September. Project DREAM board members, Heather Westerman, Heidi Gleason-Doyle, Lisa Liss and Bev Reed joined them along with a special mentor picked by each student. FUN and LAUGHS were had by all.
P.S. You won’t believe (or you might) that over half of those mentors who already give above and beyond for their students, opened their wallets to pay the difference if a student’s total was over the $300 limit! Thank you!
Eight times she has asked.
Eight times DREAM said yes.
Today is the day.
We are off to LA…………
Lisa Liss, 5th grade teacher at Woodlake Elementary shared this in her application:
“This trip culminates a year of projects, stories, community service and more promoting Tolerance on campus. The group is current 5th and 6th graders as well as a few students in other grades attending Twin Rivers schools.
The ultimate outcome is that the Tolerance kids are the ones who continue to stand up for what is right and protect those who cannot stand.”
Watch for more pictures in the coming days!
