August 23, 2017 – Creative Connections Arts Academy

20 7th and 8th graders fromCreative Connections Arts Academytook a 7-day trip to the East Coast last June.

Their teacher, Tina Hughes-Corben, wrote us “as a visual and performing arts based charter school, our mission includes exposing our students to as much of the arts as possible. This trip is one of the traditional ways in which we can do so. The educational opportunities during the week abroad is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many of our students! To see a live Broadway production and visit all of the historical monuments are lifelong memories and treasures they can refer to the rest of their lives. This year we had some students drop out of the trip during the final months which raised the per person cost for the rest of the travelers. DREAM’s support helped offset that increase. We love this opportunity every other year and DREAM helps make that happen for us!”
Hurrah to the dedicated staff and chaperones that made this trip happen!

August 16, 2017 – Babcock Elementary

Ms. Briana Wells helped take 50 1st grade students from Babcock Elementary to the Powerhouse Science Center last April. “Students enjoyed traveling outside of their neighborhood to visit the museum. For most, it was their first time ever to a planetarium. Many students returned wanting to learn more about science and the content we experienced. It would have been impossible to provide this experience to the students without DREAM funding.”

Always great to hear such☺news.

August 9, 2017 – Welcome Back!

Welcome Back! We hope everyone had a restful and fun-filled summer.

DREAM is excited to be working again this year with TR teachers to help their students step outside their neighborhood and experience the world. We have $30,000 to help with those dreams and another $9,000 to award up to 30 high school seniors with a “dorm supply” shopping spree.
If you are a teacher with a dream, use the application under “apply for funds” (deadline dates are included) and send it to us. We❤saying “YES”.
