The 2026 grant season is underway across all 50 schools Project DREAM is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3)Donate

Two programs, one goal: open the door wider.

From a sixth grader's first week at science camp to a senior's first night in the dorms, we fund the moments that change what a student believes is possible.

Classroom mini grants

Our primary focus is enhancing the educational experience of students by funding field trips. With DREAM's support, students venture beyond their neighborhood to science camps, theaters, museums, farms, the ocean, and college campuses.

Teachers at all 50 Twin Rivers schools apply for mini grants that offset the cost of these activities. Over the last several years, DREAM has approved more than $474,000 in grants benefiting thousands of students.

  • Week-long outdoor science camps at Sly Park and Coloma
  • Museums, the State Capitol, and living-history days
  • Arts, music, and performances on stage

College Bound

Many Twin Rivers graduates are the first in their families to attend college. Even with scholarships, the small costs of moving away add up. College Bound bridges that gap.

Selected students receive a $300 "summer shopping spree" for dorm and school supplies, shopping alongside a teacher or coach they choose. We provide laptops to as many students as possible, and send a $100 reward to those who finish their first term with a 2.0 or better.

Applying for a mini grant

If you work with students in the Twin Rivers Unified School District, here is how to bring DREAM funding to your classroom.

Submit the request

Complete the DREAM Funding Application Form describing the experience, the students it serves, and the impact you expect.

Board review

The volunteer board reviews requests at its monthly meeting. Priority goes to experiences students would otherwise never have.

Report back

After the trip, recipients complete an Evaluation Report so we can measure the difference and share it with donors.

Teachers can request the current application and evaluation forms by emailing [email protected]. We respond within five business days.

Your gift becomes a student's first time.

First time at the ocean. First night in the dorms. First belief that college is for them, too.
